Apartment complex Ella at the Amsterdam Zuidas was opened by Alderman Laurens Ivens in a festive ceremony on 30 November 2017.
Ella was named after jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald. All residents of the adjacent luxury apartment complex Intermezzo were also invited to attend. Besides the unveiling of the name Ella, the completion of both buildings was also celebrated. Ella and Intermezzo were developed by Consortium Royaal Zuid and designed by Inbo architecten.
Both the design of the communal roof garden of Intermezzo and the communal courtyard garden of Ella were designed by Erwin Stam Tuinstudio in cooperation with Joost Emmerik Buitenruimte.
